WHEREAS the Council of the
Village of South River wishes to create a shared committee with Machar Township
for the purposes of promoting recreational and cultural activities; and
AND WHEREAS at its first
meeting on May 17, 2011 Sharon Smith was appointed Chair of the newly formed
committee consisting of two members from each Council;
AND WHEREAS the Council of
the Village of South River agrees each municipality will each contribute $1,000
annually to its budget and all revenues and expenses will be shared equally and
the Village of South River will administer the committee;

* Derrick
Tuyl, Efficient Waste Management will be meeting with available members of
Council on Monday, May 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the South River Council
Chambers.
* Welcome to
Jamie Payne as the new Chief Arena Operator. Jamie will begin on Monday, May
30, 2011 at 7:30 a.m. in order to have some overlap time with Carl.
* Two
port-a-potties will be delivered to the Village on May 31st. Public
Works will mark the locations on the 30th.
* The
Treasurer and Clerk Administration will be meeting with a representative from
Mosey and Mosey (Employee Benefit Plan) On Wednesday, June 1, 2011 to review
the renewal documents (Renewal Date is October but there is a significant
increase).
* The Clerk
Administrator, as the Community Emergency Management Coordinator, will travel
to Bracebridge to attend the first meeting of the new Lakes Sector with field
officer,
* Councilors
Bill O’Hallarn and Jeff Dickerson will travel with the Clerk Administrator and
the Public Works Supervisor to North Bay to attend a luncheon hosted by OCWA on
Wednesday, June 8, 2011 to inform its clients of the new restructuring and how
it will (or will not) impact service.
* The Mayor
(or designate) has been invited to tea at the Friendly Circle on Monday, June
20, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. to honour our members who are 85 years of age or older.
